You may think with the engine and cab at the front why would i need a front weight? A valid question. The short wheelbase Unimogs can suffer with bounce down rough roads especially when towing standard un-balanced agricultural trailers. These trailers are designed to exert a 3-4t tongue load which Unimogs don't do well with. The back end of the Unimog will squat down sometimes making the tow hitch very low. By fitting a front weight the trailer drawbar will be raised and the front axle loaded which helps with the bounce. We also have a range of toolbox options with additional weights.
New for 2022 is the front DIN mount toolbox. The box on its own weighs 500KG! It is also possible to add additional wings which weigh 150KG each. These can be removed in minutes. The toolbox can also be specified with additional internal ballast that could be removed when not required
The standard compact 800kg front weight is still available and very popular as it only protudes 160mm from the front of the DIN plate.
