The pictures above show our "concrete in version". We also stock the popular "knock in" version for 3 and 4 inch posts. CLICK on the link below to see prices and options
1. Remove the soil/turf to a depth of just 2 inches where the horizontal part of the spike will sit flat on the ground
2. Straighten the fence post, if necessary, ask someone to hold it straight for you,
3. Place the top part of the spike flat against the post and using a heavy wooden mallet or a lump/ sledgehammer knock carefully into the ground. The spike will go easily at first and then tighten up when it gets to full depth. Use the screws provided to secure the spike to the post.
4. Use the soil/turf you initially removed to cover the horizontal part of the spike
Fitting tips:
If the ground where the spike is going into is loose i.e a well dug flowerbed of if the ground is hard or stony, it will be better to dig a hole where the spike is going, place the spike against the post and secure with the screws provided then fill the hole back in with postcrete or concrete and then cover over the horizontal part of the spike for a tidy finish.
